Perfect For
The Groom (Hatan)
A meaningful gift before the chuppah — the cotton tallit “Hataniim” is the traditional choice given to a groom by his bride, family, or in-laws. Soft, dignified, and ready for the wedding day.
Bar Mitzvah Boys
Lightweight and easy to wear — perfect for a young man becoming Bar Mitzvah. The “Hataniim” cotton tallit is gentle on the skin and won’t feel heavy during a long Shabbat morning service.
Summer & Hot Climates
If you live in a warm climate or daven outdoors, cotton breathes naturally — keeping you cool while wool would feel suffocating. Ideal for Israel, Florida, Arizona, and anywhere the sun is strong.
Travelers
Lighter and easier to pack than wool. Folds compactly into your suitcase and won’t pull at the wool fibers from being squeezed. Travel-friendly without compromising on quality.
First Tallit Gift
A perfect first tallit — beautiful enough to take pride in, affordable enough to be a generous gift, and built to last for years of meaningful use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is it called “Hataniim”?
“Hataniim” (חתנים) is Hebrew for “Grooms.” This style of cotton tallit is traditionally given to a groom (Hatan) before his wedding — a beautiful Jewish custom symbolizing his entry into adult Jewish life and marriage.
Is this tallit kosher?
Yes — 100% kosher certified. The cotton meets all Halachic requirements, the corners are properly hemmed, and the tzitzit are tied by experienced soferim in Israel.
Cotton vs wool — which should I choose?
Cotton is lighter, breathable, more affordable, and easier to care for — ideal for hot climates, summer, travel, Bar Mitzvah, and grooms. Wool is heavier, warmer, and considered the traditional year-round choice for daily use. Both are equally kosher.
What size is the tallit?
The Hataniim cotton tallit comes in a comfortable adult size. Choose the option above that best fits — when in doubt, larger gives more dignified coverage.
Does it come with a tallit bag?
A simple cloth bag is included with every tallit. Premium velvet and embroidered tallit bags are available as upgrades — contact us for options.
Can I personalize it?
For a Bar Mitzvah or wedding gift, we can arrange embroidered names or initials on the atara (the decorative neckband). Contact us at office@shofarkings.com for personalization options.
How long does shipping take?
From our US warehouse, standard delivery is 3–5 business days. International shipping from Israel takes 7–14 business days. Free US shipping on orders over $250 — combine with another tallit, shofar, or judaica item to qualify.
Returns policy?
30-day return on unworn, unwashed tallits in their original packaging. We want you to love your Hataniim — if it’s not right, we’ll make it right.
